William Lavelle was elected to South Dublin County Council in June 2009 to represent the communities of Lucan and Palmerstown. William was re-elected on the first count in 2014.
William is leader of the Fine Gael group on South Dublin County Council. William is also Chairman of the SDCC Land-Use Planning and Transportation SPC and Chairman of Lucan Community College.
William is a resident of Lucan and is married to Deirdre Hayes, a primary school teacher. William & Deirdre have a daughter, Grace.
William holds a degree in Architecture from UCD and has worked in the areas of residential design and urban master-planning.
William previously worked as a Government Special Advisor in the Departments of Children & Youth Affairs and Justice & Equality.
